“Makayla is a four-sport athlete competing in volleyball, basketball, softball, and track! She does it all while managing Type 1 diabetes, never letting it hold her back! After transitioning to Gilbert this year from a smaller Iowa school district, she earned a spot on the 8th-grade “A” volleyball team. Makayla is a natural leader who consistently shows up, gives her best, and genuinely cares about her teammates. Outside the gym, you will find her playing volleyball with her sister in the yard and reffing youth volleyball games.
